Every year on February 27, the nation pays tribute to healthcare professionals \u2013 those who dedicate their lives with devotion and compassion to the noble mission of protecting and improving public health.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The year 2025 marks the 70th anniversary since President Ho Chi Minh sent his historic letter to the National Conference of Health Workers, laying the foundation for what is now known as Vietnam Doctors\u2019 Day. This day is not only an occasion to honor doctors but also a moment to reflect on the development of the healthcare sector and its invaluable contributions to the nation.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Origin of Vietnam Doctors\u2019 Day<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

On February 27, 1955, President Ho Chi Minh sent a letter to the National Conference of Health Workers, emphasizing the noble responsibilities of the healthcare sector and its mission to serve the people. In his letter, he wrote the famous words: <\/span>\u201cL\u01b0\u01a1ng y ph\u1ea3i nh\u01b0 t\u1eeb m\u1eabu\u201d<\/span><\/i> \u2013 <\/span>\u201cA good physician must be like a kind mother\u201d<\/span><\/i>, reminding doctors to always embody compassion and wholeheartedly devote themselves to their patients.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Since then, February 27 has been observed annually as Vietnam Doctors\u2019 Day, honoring the contributions of doctors, pharmacists, nurses, and healthcare workers in protecting community health. It is also a time for generations of medical professionals to look back on their proud traditions, continuously improving their expertise and medical ethics in service of the people.<\/span><\/p>\n
